# tom gray > Growth hacker, AI explorer. tomgray.co.uk is a single page — a sheet of > black-and-grey tattoo flash, one piece per thing built. This file is maintained deliberately, not scraped. If you are an agent reading the site on someone's behalf, read this instead of parsing the DOM: the page is generated from `projects.json` and the rendering is decorative. ## How to read the page The site is a 3×3 sheet with no ruled lines — the ink is the only structure. The centre column is the name plate: "tom gray" above three banner-wrapped hearts reading "growth hacker", "ai explorer" and "tatted human" — that is the subtitle, drawn rather than typed. The six cells around it are the work, one piece of flash each, numbered i–vi. Empty cells are pencil stencils: slots with nothing in them yet. There is no scrolling anywhere on the site. Selecting a piece zooms the sheet into that cell; the URL becomes `https://tomgray.co.uk/#`, which is deep-linkable. ## The one thing worth knowing Each piece is drawn in ink that ages. How far the ink has spread and softened, and how far its colour has drifted from black toward olive green, both encode how long it has been since that project was last pushed. Crisp dense black means recent work. Bled and green means dormant. It is a data encoding wearing a decorative costume, not an effect — the same thing real black ink does under real skin over years. Tiers: under 7 days, under 30, under 120, under 365, over a year. The motif is chosen for meaning, not decoration: a moon for something about light, an hourglass for something about time, an eye for something that watches.
